Once again, we've asked an all-star team of comedians to dish about what made 2005 so very, very screwed up. This year's Last Laugh will feature Lewis Black, David Cross, Greg Giraldo, Lisa Lampanelli, Carlos Mencia, Sarah Silverman and David Spade, with special appearances by Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Andy Dick. Musical performers will be Death Cab for Cutie and Yellowcard.

Check this site next week for all kinds of exclusive Last Laugh stuff, but in the meantime, re-live the glory and super-viral video that was Last Laugh '04. (Just click on Andy Dick's face.)

lastlaugh '05 for me was definately five minutes before it aired. Not in that it offended me, but that it was the same old jokes you hear every night on talk shows (except the tom cruise wedding-i liked that one). Anyways, everyone has their own opinion, and we all take things different ways. Which brings me to the christmas thing. You know we live in a sad world when we have to express the holiday season(Christmas) in a politically correct way. When you're out in public and celebrate Christmas, and someone says "happy holidays" to you, you take it as a merry christmas. Vice Versa, you take "merry christmas" as happy holidays. And then, you get some people who think just because someone says Merry Christmas or happy holidays to you, that they are automatically trying to push their beliefs on you. Lighten up society, if i tell everyone to go f*** themselves, how many are actually going to do it. Same concept. Whatever you believe in, have a great december 13th to January 15th. As for last laugh, I didn't like it, but that doesn't mean there weren't thousands+ who did, and that's fine with me.

yeah i agree with Travis, he made a good point, grow up, who cares if you don't watch/think it's not funny. I'm sure they can do without 2 people, i'm sure alot more people will still watch and laugh as I did

Bill Schroyer, you are a moron, you obviously cant grasp the concept of changing certain thing so it's not Infriging on other peoples rights like Christmas break and the winter break thing Some people dont celebrate Christmas, so why should they say christmas break its winter break, they are trying to respect people who have different religions etc.

You basically sound like your saying "If your not christian leave" screw that this is a country of freedom, Thus we have to consider every citizen regardless of their heritage and religion we try to adapt accept everyone thats why we called christmas break winter break etc… you talk about giving an idiot a microphone a bad idea and here you are proving that statement making yourself look like a fool who will not accept anyone who isnt exactly like you. Take a few moments to let whati've said sink it then you should realize how wrong you are, if you dont realize anything then you are a brain dead dolt and good luck getting by

wow you guys are looking into this a little too much you weren't forced to watch it, just because someone has a different sense of humor than you doesnt mean it's wrong. Oh and the whole "Amazing Grace" thing well the people there were laughing. You can't let yourself get offended by little things like that. THeir intention isnt to truly offend people, they are trying to be humorous, and just because you dont find it humorous apparently makes it wrong huh because i forgot that you guys decide what is right and what is wrong, because you know that isnt an opinion thing at all… Grow up

I caught the end of David Cross and could not believe the warped view points he had. Free speach is great, but to give an idiot a microphone is over the line.

The following is not original to me but it is something that everyone needs to understand:

WILL we still be the Country of choice and still be America IF we continue to make the changes forced on us by the people from other countries that came to live in America because it is the Country of Choice??????

Think about it .

All I have to say is, when will they do something about MY RIGHTS?

I celebrate Christmas, but because it isn't celebrated by everyone,

we can no longer say Merry Christmas. Now it has to be Season's Greetings……..

It's not Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break.

Isn't it amazing how this winter break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday?

We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone,

that I AM now being Offended.

But it seems that no one has a problem with that.

This says it all!

This is an editorial written by an American Citizen,

published in a Tampa newspaper.

He did quite a job–didn't he? Read on, please!

IMMIGRANTS,

NOT AMERICANS,

MUST ADAPT.

-

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether

we are offending some individual or their culture.

Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11,

we have experienced a surge in

patriotism by the majority of Americans.

However, the dust from the attacks had barely

settled when the "politically correct" crowd

began complaining about the possibility

that Our Patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold

a grudge against anyone who is seeking

a better life by coming to America.

Our Population is almost entirely made

up of descendants of immigrants.

However, there are a few things that those

who have recently come to Our Country,

and apparently some born here,

need to understand.

This idea of America being a multi cultural

community has served only to dilute Our

Sovereignty and Our National Identity.

As Americans, we have Our Own Culture,

Our Own Society, Our Own Language and

Our Own Lifestyle. This culture has been

developed over centuries of struggles,

trials, and victories by millions of men

and women who have sought FREEDOM.

We speak ENGLISH , not Spanish,

Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese,

Russian, or any other language.

Therefore, if you wish to become part

of Our Society, learn the language!

"In God We Trust" is Our National Motto.

This is not some Christian, right wing,

political slogan.

We adopted this motto because Christian men

and women, on Christian principles, founded

this nation, and this is clearly documented.

It is certainly appropriate to display it

on the walls of Our Schools. If God

offends you, then I suggest you

consider another part of the world as

your new home, because God is part

of Our Culture.

If "Stars and Stripes" offend you, or

you don't like Uncle Sam, then you

should seriously consider a move

to another part of this planet. We

are happy with Our Culture and have

no desire to change, and we really

don't care how you did things where

you came from. This is Our Country,

Our Land, and Our Lifestyle.

Our First Amendment gives every citizen

the right to express his opinion and we

will allow you every opportunity to do so.

But once you are done complaining,

whining, and griping about Our Flag,

Our Pledge, Our National Motto, or Our

Way of Life, I highly encourage you

take advantage of one other great

American Freedom,

THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

It is Time for America to Speak up

If you agree — pass this along;

if you don't agree — delete it!

IN GOD WE TRUST

AMEN

I figure if we all keep passing this to Our Friends

(and enemies) it will also, sooner or later

get back to the complainers, lets all try, please.

GOD BLESS THE USA.

the name of the song is called "Soul meets body"-death cab for cutie

I agree with Jim P. Sure, I think GWB is a total moron (yep, I'm a Democrat), but even I was wondering what was going on with Last Laugh 05. Comedy Central needs to watch its step and keep its eye on the correct ball – comedy. If I want to watch tired Bush jokes (David Cross, I'm looking in your direction), I can go to any urban comedy club.

What is the name of the song Death Cab for Cutie played on Comedy Central's Last Laugh 05?

Posted by JimP on December 12, 2005 at 1:32 pm

Last Laugh 05? This should have been named George Bush Bash 05. This was one of the worst shows ever on Comedy Central.

P.S. Couldn't Al Franken, Janeane Garafalo and Barbra Streisand make it?

I have to agree with Terri Brown. After watching Sarah Silverman destroy Amazing Grace I was appauled. That was a total display of foolishness on her part, did she realized that she was basically slapping God in the face? And not to mention the millions of Christians nation and worldwide that feel the same way I do. That's not comedy that's a disgrace! I also will not watch Sarah "amazing disgrace" Silverman ever again. I think she owes God and the community of Christians an apology.

I enjoy watching Comdey Central but the preformance by Sarah Silverman I've just watched was in such poor taste I find that I have to comment. On October 17th of this year my family suffered a devasting loss. My sister's eldest daughter Bryony, who also loved to watch Comdey Central, died suddenly. She was a beautiful young woman, a single mother who left behind a 3 month old daughter. A very moving and stirring rendention of Amazing Grace was sung at her service. I was watching Last Laugh '05 with my sister and her youngest daughter and we found ourselfs disgusted by Silverman's preformance. It was like Silverman was thumbing her nose and laughing at our loss. Before you allow someone to degrade something a beautiful and meaningful as Amazing Grace you should think about what it means to thousands of people like my family. I know we will not be watching anything on your station that has Sarah Silverman on it and we will not be watching Sarah Silverman period.
