Do you often wonder what it’s like to be a stand up comedian? What do I do all day, you don’t ask? Play along with me.
Usually I wake up with a start when the voices in my head start singing a doo- wop version of “Good Morning Starshine.” Then I go online to update my musical references. After that I read the trades just long enough to confirm that everyone is doing better than me. The resentment and bitterness makes me hungry. After a quick snack of egg whites and egg yolks, I prefer to retire to my study. Upon discovering I don’t have one, I go back to bed, and wait for the offers to roll in. When I wake up again I play a fun game called: Is it day or night? Followed by: Is it the next day or the current night?
Andy’s Daily “Routine”
4:00 PM Open Fan Mail
4:01 PM Throw Away Hate Mail
4:30 PM Drive to any restaurant still serving breakfast. Throw a fit when told that the waffle iron has been turned off.
6:00 PM Bang on the doors of the Post Office, gesturing wildly at anyone still inside.
6:15 PM Go home and take a nap.
8:00 PM Wake up in a nervous sweat, then fall back asleep for another day and a half.
Rinse and repeat.
