Depending on who you ask, Stephen Colbert's speech and taped sketch at the White House Press Correspondent's Dinner ranged from a triumph of satire to a comedic distaster. Regardless of where you stand in the aisle, you can't deny that Stephen has balls. Of adamantium.

Truth engenders hatred of truth. As soon as it appears, it is the enemy.

Colbert at the White House….He the worse cornball I've ever heard. The only thing he had going for him was his nice suit and tie. He was AWFUL…
Veronica has poor taste in comedy, but, curiously, excellent taste in fashion.
I'm sure she has a wonderful wardrobe, but life must suck lacking a sense of humor.
So sad.
The performance was something to be proud of.

Stephen Colbert is my hero! Just watching the 'president' attempt to maintain his smirk while he was obviously seething was almost worth enduring his administration these past 5 1/2 years. Almost.
Thank you, Stephen, for speaking truth to power. I'm sure you'll be blasted for it, so thanks for taking the heat for all the rest of us.

I have never been so proud of an American since Neil Armstrong stepped on the surface of the moon. Lenny Bruce, Kurt Vonnegut. and now Stephen Colbert. And I do have to admit: Stephen Colbert's speech and taped sketch at the White House Press Correspondent's Dinner WAS a triumph of satire! The best I've ever seen in my nearly 60 years! Go Stephen, GO!
"The Truthiness Hurts" especially when delivered with Stephen's enormous BALLS.

Looks like the Fact-O-Nistas are crashing the website where the Blog-O-Nistas have hosted an online Thank YOU site.

Thanks Stephen!
The comments on Iraq were the cleanest hits I have ever seen. You could tell GW was NOT amused, and that made all the sweeter.
You're right – sorry about the error:

It works now (with the correct address and all!)
Stephen, you are our new hero! Watch your back, dude!
Too bad the press doesn't have half the huevos you do!
Thanks to Steven Colbert…I can be proud to be a lady with "Thatchers" (lady balls) instead of just being called a bitch! Oh well, I'd grown too fond of that label anyway. I love your "Truthiness" Steven, may your Eagle soar forevermore!
If the powerful sit silent
And the common people cheer
You know all you need to know
About the words just spoken here.
While Cheney plays at Merlin
And Don at Lancelot
Steve Colbert is the Jester
Whose humor masks a shot
To tell King George he’s naked
(the truth at last exposed),
Bereft of moral clothing,
His kingdom all but closed.
“Ha ha — a joke, told by a knave,”
The king and knights exclaim,
“Why should we take him seriously?
Has he our might, our fame?”
And yet, e’en as they doth protest,
And fain to look away,
The bead of sweat, the compressed lips
Do more than they can say
To show how deep the Jester’s words
Have cut into their soul.
They know he speaks the truth — they know,
As faint they hear the toll
Of the funeral bell of history,
And the judgment they deferred,
As, one more time, the Jester
Has the final word.

KNOCK-KNOCK
(who's there???)
BUDDHA!
(buddha who?)
KNOW! BUDDHA YOU!
That's as plain as it gets, and yet it will not be gotten by far too many. Same goes for Mr. Colbert's adamantium tour de force. All he did was out-Bush Bush. The minds of Mr. Bush and his supporters stab into the unknown like nuclear-powered lasers; his courtiers prefer not to connect the bloody dots. Mr. Colbert's comedy flips on the floodlights and shows a naked emperor raping the world. Not a pretty picture, so many react in disgust AT THE SWITCH FLIPPER.
Flip on, you Buddha you.
buddha (n.) One who has awakened, has seen the light and acts out of identity with All.
The last Bush administation had trouble with the word "potato'e'" This one has trouble with the wod "satire".
Stephen Colbert is just simply brilliant! (Beyond that, it's kinda sad he's got so much good material to work with.) Love your big balls, Stephen…Thank you!
Loved it, ignore the sycophants in the live crowd.
Thank God for Colbert. The conspicuous silence during his routine at the WH Correspondant's dinner is proof that the news media has let America down. Thanks to Colbert, I haven't felt more encouraged about the future of Amercian democracy in six years. He took on Bush and company single-handed. And won!!!
