The July issue of Maxim has an interview with Neal Brennan, the co-writer of Chappelle's Show. Here are some of our favorite parts:

"Did Dave really quit because a crew member laughed too hard at a racially sensitive skit?

Well, this particular crew member had a condescending laugh—but that’s just the way he laughs. But, yeah, that was Dave’s feeling, and you can’t change someone’s feeling.

On July 9, the “lost” Chappelle’s Show episodes wil lair. Was anyone reluctant to do the show without Dave?

No. Charlie Murphy and Donnell Rawlings are hosting,and all the other people in the crew are the same. Dave was the only one who didn’t like it."

(We've always wondered something: what if the crew member in question was just laughing at something funny he saw on TV the night before? Can someone do an interview with him?)

I agree with Mr. Beyer. Why doesn't Comedy Central prove it is as cool as we thought it was and BEG Dave Chappelle to come back. You had the funniest show on TV and it was because of DAVE CHAPPELLE. I won't be watching the Chappelless Chappelle Show. I'm not the only one who thinks its moronic. By the way, Mind of Mencia and MAD TV suck.

WTF? The only sketch that was funny was the one where people found out Dave got $55 million to do more seasons and he has his body guard face off with the IRS. I think what happened is what I heard Dave tell in a recent TV interview, he was not being allowed to do what he wanted to do. He was told what to do so he was always being second guessed. Well, now we see what happens when dickhole upper management people try to control the creativeness of a talented artist. The episodes sucked ass compared to his previous seasons. It wasn't his fault he got stressed out, it was money being thrown at him and expecting him to dance the way THEY wanted him to. When are those idiots going to get a grip and let artists do what they do. The people who run the station aren't the ones who know how to make a show funny so stick with what you freakin know. How to appropriate budgets and market your network, leave the rest to the talented people. Dumbasses.

it's ingenious how comedy central is showing "chappelle lost episodE" and then the rerun immediately afterward. since 9pm on sunday night is usually booked, 9:30 is perfect. fucking brilliant.

i think someone should go down to Africa and get Dave chappelle to continue his shows because they were da bomb. Chappelle is very funny i think he should come back from Africa. I love almost all of his skits like the one making fun of "making the band". dave if you read this the u.s miss's you.please come back p.s im rich bitch
