1928: Movie audiences are introduced to Mickey Mouse in his animated short debut, Steamboat Willy. The success of this film leads to the mouse's alcohol and morphine addiction and subsequent mysterious poolside death outside a Hollywood party. He is later replaced by Alfonso Mouse, a Mexican refuge and indentured servant of the Disney studio.

1959: Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev is barred from Disneyland for public urination and indecent exposure on Main Street, USA.
