Heath Shuler Wins The Congress Bowl…

Former NFL washout Heath Shuler has defeated incumbent Republican Charles Taylor in a North Carolina race that helped swing the House.

Little known fact about Charles Taylor: Due to excessive gerrymandering, his entire district is actually in Liberia.

Taylor has been criticized for his connections to the Russian mafia and his involvements in S&L scandals stateside.

Meanwhile Shuler was faring well in a recent debate with Taylor until he was sacked three times by Dallas Cowboys linement rushing his podium.

Former Redskins coach Norv Turner is now appearing in anti-Shuler ads, criticizing the ex-QB's fiscal policy and his awkward throwing motion.  In fact, there was a movement among football fans to keep Shuler out of Congress based on his sorry NFL career.

Congratulations to Heath on his first significant victory in the city of Washington.

Jeff Bingaman: Back For More Tootsie Rolls…

Ask any Senate page about Democrat Jeff Bingaman and they'll tell you the same thing.  The man LOVES the tootsie rolls they store in the 19th century desk at the back of the Senate Chamber.

He'll be back in the Senate representing New Mexico, a state he has never actually been to but "hears great things about."

Congratulations, Senator Bingaman.
