Reno 911!: Ann Arbor
As part of the promotional tour for Reno 911!: Miami, the three leads from the movie and its source show did a Q&A at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, MI. As it turns out, the alley where I buy my black-tar heroin is nearby, so I stumbled in and caught some of the shindig. I think that's called serendipity.
At first, characters Lt. Jim Dangle and Deputies Trudy Wiegel and Travis Junior answered questions. The best line was Dangle's, when asked why he prefers to wear shorts with his uniform:
"With these shorts, I can kick you without even moving my leg."
Then, during the second half, they let down the facade, and Tom Lennon, Ben Garant and Kerri Kenney answered questions about the movie, the show and working in the Hollywood system. The best line belonged to Dangle's real-life counterpart Lennon:
"Writing scripts in Hollywood is like watching someone else shave your pet."
Added Kenney, "A pet that came out of your vagina."
Finally, they mentioned that music-rights were behind the long-delayed DVD-release of The State. However, the first season has been successful on iTunes, so they expected subsequent seasons to find their way there as soon as the music can be re-edited.
