Ex-Daily Show Correspondent Rob Corddry's new sitcom, The Winner, premiered last night on Fox.  I know most were probably as skeptical as I was because Fox is not known for supporting great comedy sitcoms (RIP Arrested Development).

Was this going to be a bomb like most Fox programming or were they going to screw up a show with comedic possiblity in classic Fox style?   I checked it out and I honestly liked it – Corddry has some great moments and it kept me engaged and laughing.  On the downside was that damn grating Fox laugh track. Anyone else check it out?  Thoughts?  It made me long for a little classic Corddry so I just checked out his Daily Show farewell again:

I miss the days when the Daily Show used to stream withouth buffering. You know, back when they were on YouTube.

I thought it was some kind of meta-joke at first, it was so bad. The laugh track is incredibly overbearing and the whole concept was already done to perfection by Chris Elliot in "Get A Life".

I thought the laugh track should've been taken out.. it got laughs without it. All in all I thought it was pretty funny, I don't think it will make it through the summer without some serious help from the writers, Seth's attempt at writing live action comedy isn't bad,, take the same writers of Family Guy, and let them write for Cordery, and it'll be a hit

Yeah, I thought the whole "Go to Asian massage parlor to lose virginity" bit was really tired.

The show had some great ideas plot-wise, and I love Rob Corddry. But his character's going to get old fast. If the writers can keep it fresh, it may have a chance.

According to Wash Post review it sucks. sounds pretty dumb. Fox sucks. Corddry needs to find a better home. reserve full judgement when I see it.

I thought the first episode sucked but the second one showed potential. I think everyone thought that, actually.
