I am trying to find one of my favorite comedians of the late 80's early 90's. Did all the shows on CC like The A List, etc..

I forget his name, but one of his funniest bits was an impersonation of Howard Cosell announcing a baseball game in which a player's family member died. It was incredible. Anyone have an idea who it might be?

A video clip of Robert was also on comedy central's "Standup, Standup" back then as well. I wish that show was not cancelled BTW.

Like Kenny Rogers jackass man that was great then you got the oldman at funerals or a potery reading about his balls god it was funny.ow I never really watch Mr show but I love snl and was upsetwhen comdey central got rid of them but fell in love with mad tv now on snl the

Oh! I totally also forgot "Ignore Them" (KitH) where Dave Foley is followed around by a gang his whole life and the Mr. Show Season 4 sketch where "Larry" and "Tom" start a fight in a bar and take it as far as possible (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfUv5t71_Xo). The way Bob mows the lawn and his delivery of the line, "My life" – totally priceless.

You're right – pretty much 80% of Mr. Show would take up my top ten and beyond, and I'd have a hard time narrowing it down to only one or two. The "Pre-taped call in show" is a great example of something so elegantly constructed that they should have received a hundred trophies made of blowjobs and cash.

Ronnie Dobbs, Dickie Crickets and The Bob Lamonta story are probably obvious choices for runners up, but in terms of greatest of all time, I wouldn't be able to exclude Change for a dollar, The Joke: The Musical, The Teardrop Awards, the Hail Satan network, Mayostard and Mustardayonnaise, Philouza, and especially the entire episode (I think it's "OH, YOU MEN") with the banana/monkey taped thing that comes back around at the end.

The State didn't even make their list and it should, if for no other reason than for the remake of the Cannonball Run blooper reel which made me cry because I didn't think of it first. Taco Man is genius. And Porcupine Racetrack should be made into a full length Broadway musical, if Broadway knows what's good for it.

SNL has a lot of great sketches, but I'd think the ones that came so far from left field should be recognized most. For example, I fucking love "Jackie Rogers Jr.'s $100000 Jackpot Wad" – but the idea of a game show parody isn't exactly innovative. Same goes for every amazing commercial parody they've ever done. I'd be more inclined to name Brian Fellows' Safari Planet, Richard Pryor's job interview, and Eddie Murphy's "Two Americas" in which he goes undercover as a white man (even though this skit could be blamed for Murphy's current "put on makeup and be every character" disease). Most of all, Robert Smigel's TV Funhouse should be awarded a lifetime achievement award for bringing back the edge to corporate comedy. Those shorts felt like the riskiest things SNL had done in forever.

"Citizen Kane" from Kids in the Hall is definitely the right choice, if you're only gonna pick one. Womyn, Running Faggot, A Place to Die, Teddy Bear's Picnic, The Dr. Seuss Bible, Bobby and the Devil, Comfortable, and Girl Drink Drunk, off the top of my head, are close seconds.
