Over on his personal site, Patton Oswalt has a lengthy recap of the nonstop press-junkets he had to do to promote Ratatouille. Here's a taste:

In the middle of a phone interview on the 7th a writer from Detroit said, "I mean, the movie is like 95% perfect.  I love it."

Why couldn't I resist?  "What was the 5% that didn't work?"

   "I could've used a song."

I asked, "Didn't you notice the completely original score by Michael Giacchino?"

"Well, I don't know any of that music.  I mean a song I like and know right now.  I saw this awesome film last year — The Wild.  Did you see The Wild?"

   I said I hadn't.

"Well, that film was perfect.   Oh my God.  They play that song by
Coldplay — and it's Coldplay singing it, which is awesome.  The one
where he's saying, 'Yooooooouuu are beautiful', or something like
that?  It's my total favorite song."

I was a little confused how someone couldn't know the title of their "total favorite song."

Later, when I was telling this story to Brad Bird, he said, 'You should've asked him if, when he was Star Wars, if he was pissed that he didn't know any of the music in that."

"Couldn't they have put a cool Jerry Reed song in that?" I whined.
