Halfhourfeb19 TV Newser reports that Fox News' "answer" to The Daily Show, The 1/2 Hour News Hour, has been put on indefinite hiatus. 

Decreed FNC's SVP of Programming, Bill Shine:

"There is still a chance you will see the program at some point in the future.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank ["24" Producer, burgeoning funnyman] Joel [Surnow] and his team. He is a visionary in this business and he created a contrarian program that fulfilled an untapped niche in the comedy genre."

What's next in Fox News' untapped niche pile? How about a talk show starring a megalomaniac pundit who shouts over dissenting guests and . . . nah, it'd never work.
