Lots of Colbert news over the long weekend!
1. Stephen's cast sold for $17,200 on ebay to a "johncdmiller".
2. The Huffington Post is trying to find out who "johncdmiller" is.
3. Kind of off-topic: is this a picture of Stephen in an upcoming episode of "The Simpsons"?

Next time you have a very valuable item to auction, you should do it at a time when you are not on vacation. I didn't even know the cast was for sale until after the auction because I missed one episode. I would have paid a lot more than 17,200 for the cast, and I'm sure someone else would have paid more than me.
That cast should have been sold during a time when Stephen could have hyped for several nights in a row, maybe a few weeks. It should have raised closer to 75 thousand dollars, and I am sure that in twenty years it will be worth a cool quarter million.
If you need any marketing help with anything else, just let me know.
It's too bad that this couldn't have been raffled off so that everyone of the fans would have had a chance to own it, instead of only those who are rich. Stephen your fan base can not afford $17,200 as individuals but I am sure that at $5 or $10 a ticket you could have raised much more than this. Next time you do something like this couldn't your tech people do an online raffle?
Hey Star Spangled Steven-
Happy to hear you've recovered from that horrible wrist incident-tried to convince my husband to bid on your cast rather than pay the mortgage this month. No go. He obviously does'nt understand "true investment" like I do. Anyway…
Back in my day I had a pretty serious knee surgery. Casted hip to ankle-did I mention it was the summer of my high school senior year?
Just wondering if they found anything good inside your cast when they took it off-beside that stanky funk of course.
When my docs removed that mushy, autographed, threaded excuse for a cast they found-to their horrer-2 cocktail stir sticks, one-lb of summer beach sand, 5 discarded ciggarette buttes and….get ready…Jimmy Hoffa
Okay, maybe it was 1/2 lb of beach sand-I don't remember.
Well?? Let us know-your nation is waiting.
Most sincerely

p.s. very sweet they way you handled Garrison Keillor (sp?)
personally, I thought it was worth in the millions but 17,200 is a lot of money! Go Stephen!
good cause, stinky item
