Oh Colbert... ^_^ It makes me warm and fuzzy inside to know he surpassed Rain. It's also funny to read about the people who don't know the two sides. Silly... That's Colbert's persona. Of COURSE he would ask for votes, it's COLBERT! He's hilarious. Watch him before you knock him. Still, Rain has a few points for getting me a free keychain with my spicy chicken sandwich in China, but I still kind of feel for Colbert, because he has his own Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Flavor. Sometimes life is hard. Eh, but still, Colbert beat Rain! even if he lost the #1 place again. Heh. And don't you see, Colbert is influential. NOW YOU KNOW HIM! HAH! SNEAK ATTACK OF DOOM!

Damn, can't anyone just enjoy it for what it was? It was great comedy. Props to both Rain and Colbert for putting this together, both are class acts in my book.

One love

The fact that Rain had the class to show up on Colbert's show and hung out with him should tell you that it's not about the difference between the countries, but rather the commonalities they both have as individuals. They are both unique in their own ways, and will be better suited to learn more about each other's cultures, and we should do the same as viewers.

Rain is influencing so many more people than Colbert worldwide. Sorry but it's the truth. Rain might be some nameless Asian guy here in the states, but across Asia he is a superstar that has won many awards. He speaks 4 langauges and sings in them as well. ANd now.. With him being in speedracer and getting the lead in Wachowski's Ninja assasin he will be bigger then jet li.

Oh I'm not Korean or Asian either and I am up on His career even before the hallyu wave.

For the people in American who most likely never heard of Rain, it is most likely the same shit for Colbert in Asia. And Colbert isn't much of an "influential" person that should been seen as one of the best if he talks hella shit about other canidates. Talking hella shit is a way to show how you deserve to be on the bottom of the most influential people of the world.

to D : I know that you were joking...

but in a time when terrorism is a major global issue, please dont use it as a joke...

but what am i thinking, this is a comedy website xD

well, anyways. currently shigeru is at the top. i guess that makes sense though, because nintendo is known by everyone, and i'm sure that most average families have at least 1 of his franchise games 0.0 and the gaming industry is quite huge. and he did make donkey kong and zelda and whatnot.

I guess that makes shigeru more influential than colbert and rain :/

well, theres still awhile to go xD we'll just have to wait and see~~~

Allright. I've never heard about this "rain"-guy before. Why is he named after my least favorite weather condition anyways? Did he cry a lot in Korean idol? If he's so influential, why didn't he change his name to something more prestigeous? Like pikachu or something? Maybe it's a sponsorship thing... wait... rain? Put the "i" in front and you have IRAN! Coincidence? I think not! Stop supporting terrorists, Asia! :)

(Just messin' with you guys, I love Seoul!)

Go Stephen!

Live from Germany,

-D

Uh, and vote for our chancellor Angela Merkel! That'd be super!

im guessing mich is asian, if not a teen girl fan.

yeah rain's big outside of america (namely Asia). But you can't say that he's exactly influential. He's brought a great deal of attention to the Asian world of pop, but to be honest, his music is not revolutionary in any sense. It's like Justin Timberlake done Korean style. (And I say that as someone who has heard a lot of his music.) I commend him for making himself a star greater than any other asian has these days, but he shouldn't really be at the top of the polls. That is the work of his huge Asian fanbase.

Truth be told, in an online poll, the odds are seriously against everyone who is not a hot Asian popstar. Keep in mind the immense world population of Asians, and how many of those use the internet. (Starcraft, anyone?)

Colbert is doing the ridiculous thing of outwardly asking for support because the online poll itself is a ridiculous measure of influence. So there's really no shame in loudly asking for votes. And actually getting them. He's number one right now, with half as many votes and Rain. :)
