I'm going to tell you two incredible things about my native France*:

1. The number one movie there ever was Titanic, not a Jerry Lewis film.

2. Titanic sold 20 million tickets but this record will soon be broken by Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis, or "Welcome to the Ch'tis" (ch'tis being a reference to a stinky cheese/Jerry Lewis). Formidable!

Bienvenue is one of those nutty comedies where an urbane sophisticate is dropped into the northern sticks where he doesn't understand the dialect or way of life.

According to Cinematical, Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment and Warner Brothers have purchased the rights to remake the movie here. The working title will either be "Barack Obama Campaigns in Kentucky" or "Welcome to the Sticks".
