Yesterday I saw a clip on Videogum of Christopher Guest talking about Stonehenge as Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap. It's a promotion for National Geographic's Stonehenge documentary, and it's hilarious. So hilarious, in fact, that it left me wanting more, nay, needing more. Luckily, my DTs were cured upon discovering that the video is one in a series of five. Here's the first followed by the rest after the jump:
Why isn't there a Spinal Tap TV show? Or like a live-feed of Guest, McKean and Shearer perpetually in character? Or, why don't they just come to my house and hang out and play Sex Farm whenever I give the signal? Get on it, science!
Hilarious. He's a genius. And sometimes the straight man is almost as funny, with the facial expressions, the puzzled pauses - brilliant. I need more. If McKean, Guest, Shearer put out a movie a week, I'd watch them all.

You sad people..started laughing immedietelly like I did in '84…"too chilly, we'll do Egypt"..hilarious. Anyone whose anyone knows that 'henge is a cosmic drumming amplifyer…nothing to do with guitars Nige cos they hadnt been invented yet. See y'all at Solstice!
BOOOOO. WTF National Geographic? Can't get stupid Americans to watch your educational shows without some advance PR by a worn out Spinal Tap character? WTF? WE are doomed…
Not funny. At all. Tired. Worn out. Retire Nigel.
Too awesome. Tufnel is a staggering intellect. I agree 100% with Matt Tobey. Nice post!
