Variety reports that Aziz Ansari (Human Giant) has just signed on for the hush hush spinoff of The Office.
NBC has allowed for few leaks about the developing comedy but it looks like it won't be a traditional spinoff, in that no current Office cast members will join the new show. There is a suggestion that the cast members of the new show might appear on The Office to introduce the new show. It's possible that the show may take place in a setting related to The Office, such as a paper mill or a paper recycling plant.
NBC will have to be careful with the new title, since we all know that comedy spinoffs almost never survive on their own.
