Paul Lynde was a bawdy old queen long before it was cool to be a bawdy old queen. He was on Bewitched and in a bunch of movies, but he's best remembered as the center square on the old Hollywood Squares, where he regularly displayed his knack for hilarious double entendres and saucy wise-cracks. Lynde died 26 years ago, but would've been 82 today. Here's a recent SNL clip featuring Fred Armisen as a character clearly modeled after him:

It's a weird sketch. I think Armisen is doing an amalgam of Lynde and Reilly.

odd….looks like hes doing charles nelson riley…who was the regular queen on match game…did lynde ever do that show ?
