<description>It&#039;s horrible that one of the greatest comedians of all time has died, but of all the times it could&#039;ve happened. Now is probably best.(if you&#039;ve ever seen the new jokes where he plays god with the address book of his dead friends) However, I do feel that no one actually remembers the man an obscure tribute on some webpage is not what he deserves. Why is their no comedy central tribute for George Carlin. George Carlin stayed funny and continued to be funny throughout every decade he was alive but he&#039;s only remembered for one thing and is then faded out of history forever. Come on do a comedy central special. The sun will thank you or (Joe Pesci)

<description>It has taken me quite awhile to

adjust to [and accept] the fact that George Carlin is no longer

with us and there won&#039;t be any

new material for Carlin Specials

on HBO and Comedy Central. I join

with all of those who mourn the

death of this outlandishly funny

man who had the comic genius to

make you laugh even if you didn&#039;t

want to. I met George in the mid

50s, which was long before he raised the comedic bar to heights that will probably always remain just beyond the reach of aspiring humorists. I was a newsman at KJOE-AM, Shreveport, LA, George was still in the military, stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, and also worked a second job at the radio station. Truly a

cool dude, and even then he was so funny you&#039;d laugh &#039;til you

hurt. I always thought it was great working with George, but

at the time I didn&#039;t realize it was aslo a privilege. Soon after

George was discharged from the AF

he landed a job at KXOL-AM, Fort

Worth, TX. A short while later there was a news opening at KXOL

and I&#039;ve always thought it was

George&#039;s recommendation that nailed it for me. Not long after

that George teamed up with Jack Burns, thus Burns &amp; Carlin came on the comedy scene and George left KXOL. My regard for Burns

wasn&#039;t very high; George was the one who got all the laughs. It was just as well &#039;cause it wasn&#039;t

too long &#039;til George was a single

and funnier than ever, too. After

George left the station, I didn&#039;t

see him but a couple of times. He

was well on his way to doing what he loved to do...&quot;share his stuff

and make you laugh.&quot;

George Carlin..

truly one-of-a-kind..and he will be missed.

<description>Doin&#039; easy street now, Georgie boy. Ya did what you were meant to do, and the rest of us are better off because of it. Loosening up the hangups, sanding off the rough edges of PC, finding humor in places that had cobwebs...thanks for sharing your &quot;stuff&quot;...

		<description>This is not tragic.

George is not, nor could he ever be, dead. Youtube, this website, albums, specials, movies... Mr. Carlin is like herpes... HE IS EVERYWHERE AND THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT IT!

99.9% of the comics you hear or see are George Carlin offshoots and/or ripoffs and/or jerkoffs.

George did things differently.

R. I. P.? I doubt it. George is hard at work RIGHT NOW! In my mind, in your mind, in the minds and actions of a country.

There&#039;s a thought. That a comic... a comedian... has effected people to the point were he has changed the way the act and react to thing in their lives. Hmmm!

I take off my hat to George... and I would put in on his bald head but his shiny is reflecting a lot of sun and is helping prevent some small level of global warming.

***********************************

Ahead of his time? No. He was right on time... all the time. And until the end of time he will remain timeless.

************************************

71 stars for you George

<description>Carlin was a funny, talented, comedian. Yes, he was off-color. Alot of people are, and no, I don&#039;t usually talk in that manner.

But, neither did he. It was his routine. It was part of what made him funny. My children got to know George the train conductor when they were small. They loved him. They could not believe he was the same man who could spin-off on everyone and everything. Now that they are older, hell yeah, I&#039;m going to let them listen to his comedy. My husband and I got to see him a couple months ago and his bit about being 70 cracked us up! To the people that didn&#039;t like him, don&#039;t watch or listen to him, but, back off and let us mourn a truly funny man!! Rest in peace George (PS. George said in an interview that he had an Uncle George that was his favorite. I had an Uncle George that was mine too!)

is gone. comedy central should do a special with him. maybe even a stash special on saturday so nothing gets omitted. many a time i watched him on hbo and he cracked me up every time.
