Let's face it, this is Stephen Colbert's Internet, we just link in it. He's already conquered Wikipedia and viral video, and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a nickel from every eBay transaction. And now it's Digg's turn to fall under the weighty cyber-influence. A group of fans has started an unofficial campaign to dominate the social media site Digg with Colbertaphernalia:
We’ll gather our troops here and wait to make our assault. The instant we gain
the support of the 2000th person we, members of the Colbert Nation, will all
recieve an email telling us to spring into action, digging every story and video
we can find of Baby Bert. We’ll stop and bask in success when every slot on the
front page is occupied and Stephen has attained his rightful perch.
You know what to do now. Sign up and await the clarion email. I'll post updates as they materialize. Oh, and at the risk of causing the universe to implode, you should Digg this post.
