As I commented on our very own Buffy countdown, Joss Whedon has an unexpected knack for the musical.


This coming Tuesday we'll see further proof of that with the comic "Super villain musical" called Dr. Horrible, the first act of which will stream on the web this Tuesday. Dr. Horrible features Neil Patrick Harris, and Nathan Fillon, who 900-level dwarf-sorcerers will recognize as Mal Reynolds from Firefly (and a Buffy baddie from Season 7). Each act will be released over the next 10 days, but by the 20th it'll all be yanked and prepped for DVD, sort of like how FOX torpedoed Firefly, but since this is the Internet Whedon gets to do what he wants and I don't have to cry in my Tribble-shaped pillow pining for resolution.
