Emmy

Before today, whenever I wanted to list my most memorable TV moments, I needed some scratch paper, a pencil, and one mighty sturdy eraser. I would constantly erase the orgy episode of Friends from my list. Since it was only a dream, I doubt I can consider it part of the proper Friends canon. But now The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards has set up a nice online voting system. You can watch the 20 compiled clips and vote for the top five in the comedy and drama category. According to the Associated Press, the winning clips will be announced during the award show.

The top five vote-getters in each category will be presented during the Emmy show on Sept. 21, and the two winning moments will be revealed just before the year's outstanding drama and comedy series are named.

I was excited to see South Park made the cut. They chose the Tom Cruise/John Travolta scene from the Trapped in the Closet episode as a nominee. The other comedy clips eligible include scenes from SNL, Seinfeld, M*A*S*H, The Cosby Show, All in the Family, among other great classic comedy shows. I'm still baffled as to why the American Idol first season finale was in the comedy section. It is clearly the single most dramatic moment in the history of anything dramatic.
