I use the term all the time myself, but I think we can all agree that it's time to come up with a different name for anti-comedy. Because really, it's comedy, and a lot of the time it's better than comedy-comedy. I suppose meta-comedy works, but it sounds kind of pretentious. I don't know, I guess I just like bitching about semantics. I mean, why do we drive on a fartway and fart on a driveway? Here's Tim Heidecker anti-doing some hilarious anti-stand-up.

I didn't feel uncomfortable for him, I just felt bored. Seems like anyone who gets up on stage these days and tells purposefully bad jokes is suddenly treated like the second coming of Andy Kaufman. It's like listening to Michael Bolton sing a Ray Charles tune, he might hit the same notes but the new version has no soul.

i love tim heidecker and the tim and eric awesome show. I feel like they are doing a great thing for a new type of comedy that the majority of people seem not to get it at all. its a bit(very) frustrating but you just have to let it go and don't try to explain exactly what he's doing becuase if they dont figure it out the first time then their "comedy-brain" is small and they'll never grasp the humour. (anti-comedy is the first valid way ive heard it explained, or maybe the simplest) I dont know, the semantics kill me too sometimes.

Anyway great video! and i think Anti-comedy is honestly a good way to describe it, i mean he's making you feel uncomfortable FOR him and thats his goal He's doing it on purpose, Its THE BEST WAY TO MESS WITH YOUR AUDIENCE!

And in the end Isn't that a big part of what comedy/stand-up is all about?!….yes
