It looks like Towel Day will be coming early this year: Irish novelist Eoin Colfer (totally fake name) will be writing the final installment to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Hmm. Sounds like a great idea. Like Phantom Menace great. I mean, what if J.K. Rowling had kept going after that Harry Potter book?

"For years I have been finishing this incredible story in my head and
now I have the opportunity to do it in the real world," said the author. Well he better get a word processor quick — the head is truly the worst place to keep a book.

I feel some ownership here – Hitchhiker's Guide probably inspired me more than any other book to become a humor writer. Of course I'm technically a humor blogger. Hear that sound? It's Douglas Adams laughing at me from beyond the grave.

Really I'm just bitter. Why did this other guy get the job? If unpronounceable names is all it takes, I better get the job to write HG2G books 7-9. And if not, I'm challenging you to a duel, Eoin. I'll write my own unauthorized fanfic, and it'll kick the Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters out of your authorized fanfic.
