During
his recent CBS interview with Katie Couric, Joe Biden went on the
offensive against the Bush Administration for their response to the
crisis on Wall Street:

When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on
the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He
said, "look, here's what happened."

But as Reason points out,
the stock market crash was in 1929, so Roosevelt wasn't President and
only scientists had TVs. Other historical events Biden might want to
avoid mentioning going forward include:

* Jimmy Carter's text message announcing the abolition of slavery

* Millard Fillmore's vlog about the Iran Contras

* Jesus of Nazareth's hologram declaring victory against the Eskimos in the Eleventy Days War

Nonetheless, the truth is Biden actually knew what he was doing. As
soon as the McCain campaign pounces on the gaffe, Biden can just say,
"Of course John McCain knows more about the stock market crash of 1929.
He was there! I'm Joe Biden, and I approve of this zinger. Stop looking
at my hair plugs."
