Is the GOP looking to Stephen Colbert for inspiration? Check this out from Politico…

In a closed-door session with House Republicans Sunday
evening, Minority Leader John A. Boehner called the $700 billion
financial rescue deal a "crap sandwich" — then said he plans to vote
for it.

Now, compare to this quote from Entertainment Weekly's recent interview with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert…

"Any change is as good as a vacation at this point,"
says Colbert, who set his conservative TV pundit character aside for
the chat. "I don't know if you've paid much attention to the past
eight years, but it has been a shitburger supreme. If somebody gives me
an empty burger, it's better than eating shit." [Ed: Curse words
re-added.]

At the very least, Colbert and Boehner eat at the same restaurant.

But adding in McCain's condemnation of government-funded bear
research at Friday's debate, Stephen's influence withing the Republican
party is pretty undeniable.
