David Letterman and John McCain to Make Nice

If you are like me (by which I mean extremely lonely and bored) you no doubt have been following David Letterman's assault on Senator John McCain. After John McCain suspended his campaign, canceling an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, Letterman ripped into the senator on air, showing a live feed of McCain getting dolled up for Katie Couric.
Look at him get all made up! What does he think he is? Some kind of pig with cosmetics on it's lips?
On subsequent episodes, Letterman continued the attack, claiming McCain treated him like an ugly date. The charge is outrageous. McCain doesn't make it a habit of abandoning his ugly dates for prettier dates! He reserves that kind of treatment for his wives.
Regardless, According to The New York Post, "knowledgeable sources" claim John McCain will show his trademark restraint by agreeing to appear on The Late Show.
McCain representatives and "Late Show" executives are
negotiating an appearance on Letterman's show sometime around the final
presidential debate on Oct. 15…
At this point, McCain's maverick status makes it unclear whether he will deliver a weepy apology or pummel Letterman's face into the fake city-scape behind them. Most likely, he'll just do his normal talk show routine by smiling awkwardly and elbowing in his POW status.
