Political gaffes are the best part of election season, because they're comedy, but no one has to put any thought or effort into creating them. They just happen, like farts and global warming. Also, they rhyme with "laughs," so you know they'll at least rhyme with funny. And with Captain Foot-in-mouth debating General Oatmeal-brains the other night, we should have had enough gaffes to keep us warm with laughter all winter long. But, as John Oliver found, it was a big, ungaffe-y disappointment.
