Let's face it, big cities only exist so we have a place for all the homos to get abortions while the communist Muslims smoke pot and read JD Salinger books. They're a part of America the same way the septic tank is part of my factory-built modular home. As we've been told so much lately by super smart people, the real America is in small towns. So from Wasilla, Alaska to Alpine, Texas, from Pacific City, Oregon to Jefferson, Virginia, here are The Daily Show's finest reports from real American small towns.

Wasilla, Alaska

St. Paul, Minnesota

Clark, Texas

Alpine, Texas

Inglis, Florida

Pacific City, Oregon

Choccolocco, Alabama

Jefferson, Virginia

Bay City, Michigan

"jeff stevens, shut the fuck up. stupid people are hilarious."

Well said.

If small town people don't want to be perceived as stupid, they need to stop supporting the most base and willfully ignorant aspects of our political discourse. In other words, they need to stop engaging in a culture war that they (with their dwindling job prospects and slowly dying way of life) are losing. And you're losing not because of BIG CITIES but because your backward ways are driving away your children.

ok, I watched this section last night and came away with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. For starters, I was a bit taken aback by the elitism that I felt while watching the show. Not one of economic, but of educational. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm guessing that a good chunk of your staff can relate to some aspect of what you made fun of in this piece. Personally, I am a very educated person who is riding on the backs of a stay at home mom and a blue collar dad who made sure that I had it "better" than they did. The tone of this piece was one of exaggeration that really plays well to "educational elite" at the expense of the people they don't associate with any more.

Hey guys, I don't have any student loans! I didn't go to a school I couldn't afford and my working class parents didn't prop me up in order to make up for my so called "excessive class load" during college.

I'm glad you're doing well, but realize that it isn't your a** that is out there scrambling for the sh*t jobs in retail and food service. These people don't need anymore sh*t on them than they already have.

Please come down from your Ivory Tower and realize that maybe your charge is now not to ridicule, but to inform…
