The Onion AV Club interviewed Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee about her work on the show and the exotic political system of her native Canada. She proves that she is an acting genius in that she pretends to care about the US election.
"There's a prime minister thing going on in Canada. Exciting! I'm not even reading about the U.S. election, I'm just totally involved in the Canadian one."
I did a little research and it looks like some crazy things have happened with the "prime minister thing." Apparently every member of Rush is campaigning for the PM job, but each one is for a different party and it's tearing the country apart.
Bee also ruminates on Christopher "Girlies Aren't Funny" Hitchens, and whether gender is a barrier to success in comedy. I think Hitchens is right in one fashion: Women comedians can't be funny in the skeevy gross old man way.
