Ricky Gervais Wants to Bring Us More Extras

TV gossip burned me many times before, most recently with the on again/off again relationship I have with the Arrested Development movie. We're like Ross and Rachel! My two friends, Ross McKay and Rachel Stein, always breaking up and getting back together again. If anyone ever makes a show about them, it'll be a huge hit (but it won't be that funny).

Now, Ricky Gervais has decided to cocktease me as well by hinting at another possible Extras Christmas Special.

Asked what he thought about bringing back 'Extras', Gervais said: "The
truth is I have an idea for one more Extras, which would work best as
another Christmas special.

When do they celebrate Christmas in England anyway? Is it like their 4th of July, which I hear they celebrate by wearing V for Vendetta masks and eating figgy pudding? Let's just hope, like the Jewish Christmas, its close to ours so I can watch this special while roasting chestnuts on an open fire.

"I think it would be funny to see Andy trying to make it in Hollywood.
The problem is, I don't think Stephen Merchant wants to do it. But I
reckon he will if I insist!"

Is Stephen Merchant the Grinch or something? That story idea sounds awesome. Also, "I reckon?" I think Gervais has been in America too long. He's starting to sound like a cowboy.

He told the magazine: "Andy Millman was more real than David Brent by
the end of the show and I loved Maggie Jacobs – she was the best
character we've ever come up with."

Ricky Gervais and I fundamentally disagree. If we got into an argument, I would try to recreate that scene from Annie Hall by introducing an expert on Ricky Gervais. The expert would say, "you know nothing of my work," and Gervais would have to agree that David Brent is the best thing anyone has ever done.

It would work out just like that.
