Remember when John Landis had that run of amazing comedies? Well, I sure didn't. Back then, I was way too busy multitasking being a sperm and an egg to go see movies. In retrospect, that was no excuse, because I just realized Landis directed Kentucky Fried Movie, Animal House, Blues Brothers, and An American Werewolf in London within a five year period! In twenty-two years, the only brilliant thing I've ever done was poop my pants at Disney World.

According to Variety, after a ten years hiatus from making feature films, Landis is returning with a slew of projects.

First up will be "Burke and Hare," a true-life black comedy about the

two eponymous grave-robbers in 19th century Edinburgh. [John] Landis is

directing the project for Ealing Studios.

Landis is also attached to a number of other feature projects,

including "Ghoulishly Yours," a biopic of Mad magazine and EC Comics

publisher William Gaines;

"The Bone Orchard," which the helmer describes as a Western with

Chinese vampires; and "The Rivals," based on the Restoration play by James Sheridan.

The one I'm most excited for is the William Gaines biopic. Back in the 40's, Gaines published some of the most fucked up comic books in the world, including one story where baseball is played with human parts. If that doesn't make you love the late, great Gaines, did you know he also published MAD?!

What?! You don't think MAD is amazing?! Why am I arguing with you, fictional person I made up to argue with me for the sake of this post?! Do me a favor and go fuck your grandmother, figment of my imagination!
