Yeah, I know, the phrase "Recursive Spoofing" looks like it belongs in a Slashdot article, but keep your Linux Underoos on, I'm not writing about fake MAC addresses.
This crazy news from Hollywood Reporter made me crash my unicycle and miss my philosophy class: those indie meta-comedians Chevy Chase and Burt Reynolds are parodying all those wacky "Not Another.." spoof movies in a film called "Not Another Not Another Movie."
"Chase plays a studio head who quits his floundering company,
leaving his ex-con sibling (Michael Madsen) in charge. Soon their equally
inept gangster friend (Vinnie Jones) takes over and assigns a production
assistant (David Leo Schultz) to direct a spoof of spoof movies.
Reynolds plays an actor playing the director of the chaotic film
within the film."
For those of you playing at home, that means there's a film within a film spoofing spoof movies. That noise was my head exploding. Don't worry, my Aeron chair is stain resistant. Hopefully this movie will clear the way for that most rarefied of genres: Mel Brooks parodies of Charlie Kaufman movies.
