After years of waiting patiently, The Simpsons fans get what they've been waiting for all these years; a crossover with The New York Times crossword puzzle guys.

Now only will your favorite crossword puzzle constructor guest star in the forthcoming episode, but secret clues involving The Simpsons episode will be embedded into Nov. 16's New York Times puzzle, because who loves crossword puzzles more than Simpsons fans?! That's not a rhetorical question. I sincerely don't know who likes crossword puzzles. Old people?

[Mearl] Reagle and [Will] Shortz collaborated with SIMPSONS executive producer Tim

Long to create a hidden SIMPSONS-related message integral to that

night's episode that will appear in The New York Times Sunday Crossword

Puzzle on Nov. 16.

Why is the word SIMPSONS always in CAPS in this press release? Are they mad or just excited? Whatever, this press release isn't about the press release writer, it's about something much more exciting! Crossword puzzles!

"One of the great things about working on THE SIMPSONS is that when we

do a show on a particular subject be it politics, sports or music we do

it right," Long notes. "In this case, we hired master constructor Merl

Reagle (who guest-voices as himself) to design every single crossword

puzzle visible throughout the episode. Conscientious or

obsessive-compulsive? You be the judge!"

BEST. CROSSWORD. CROSSOVER. EVER.
