Who Should Play George Michael in the Arrested Development Movie?
Remember what I said about Michael Cera possibly not appearing in the now-officially-happening Arrested Development movie? It's sounding more and more likely.
"Yes, it's a go," an Arrested castmember who asked not to be named tells me. "We're all very excited. And it will happen with or without the holdout."
Wait a minute…The holdout? Yes, I'm also told exclusively by multiple sources that one of the show's original castmembers has not signed on to the movie…
"Yeah,
[he or she] might not do it," an actor says of this costar. "However, I
do know that we will do the project with or without [him or her]."
Add that to this September quote from Michael Cera…
"I
don't think I would want to see a movie of the series if I was a fan
anyways…and I don't really see a need for it if you can get the three
seasons on DVD."
…and it's not hard to irresponsibly speculate that he is
the holdout. And irresponsible speculation is what blogging is all
about.
So, what if Cera won't do it? I'm glad you asked. Here are some people I think could step in and play George Michael.
George Michael
Is there a better, more obvious choice? His name is George Michael; do the math. This is like casting fish for A Barrel: The Movie.
George W. Bush
Another George, and he has the added benefit of a wide open schedule next year. Also, people seem to give him credit for everything funny that's happened in the last eight years.
Bush
Take everything I just said and multiply it by four. Have you met my friend math? You guys should hang out.
Fourth, Even Sillier Casting Idea
An actual bush? Jan Michael Vincent? Your mom? Either way, this list just keeps getting more and more wacky!

^ haha.
it's really a shame, he's as much a centerpiece of the show as every other character. however, I don't think jason bateman will let the movie go on without michael cera, he seems like he was the catalyst for this and he really likes cera, so fingers crossed
Film opens on casket.
