Ana Gasteyer

Every day the Internet overwhelms us with interesting, insightful, extremely Digg-able list pieces that we really should have thought of. Today we have the Top 10 Women of Saturday Night Live, submitted by the newest member of the nerdier-than-thou entertainment blog softball league (Go fightin' </blockquote>'s!): Pop Culture Deathmatch

6. Ana Gasteyer

Lesson Learned:
Play with the silence.

Most underrated castmember in the show‚Äôs history.  Easily.  Ana

Gasteyer was overshadowed as the other woman in the show’s only

female-heavy years.  Her slow approach to performances, drawing the

audiences in as opposed to yanking them on the arm or the earlobe, made

the payoffs all the more enjoyable.  And, if you can, sing!  But only

sing if you can.

Highlight Reel:
Delicious Dish, The Culps, Martha Stewart’s Topless Christmas Special

Martha Stewart's Topless Christmas Special was brilliant. This is the only one of these lists that I've seen (there are so many) that includes her, and I 160% agree.

Damn, I remember her! I do remember every so often I would feel like she understood some skits better than the others..

no one ever talks about her but she is the bomb

Really? I think she was so awkward and aloof and routine.

But, yeah, the singing was a plus.
