LOLhipsters Proves You Can LOL Anything

They claim a picture says a thousand words. But what if  pictures had the power to say just one incoherently phrased sentence instead?

The internet phenomena of lolcats does just that! And now lolcats have evolved once again to include another cultural touchstone with the addition of lolhipsters.

There have been so many several different versions of the lolcat, more recently with roflrazzi, a celebrity take on the format, that lolhipsters were entirely inevitable. If you think about it, American Apparel ads are basically really bad lolhipsters. Plus, making fun of hipsters is like shooting the side of a barn. Except barns don't steal your wallet to fund their growing cocaine addiction. Barns are cool like that.

Regardless, lolcats are the easiest form of humor. Srsly, you can take any subject and make it funny through the sheer power of incorrectly spelling text over image. Do you want me to prove it? Well, then read on my friend!

Lolstory

So you've learned all about history, and you've sexistly ignored "herstory." You've even seen Toy Story five times. But have you ever heard of lolstory?

For the past seven million years, iconic photography's power has rivaled that of the greatest army. Well, as long as that army doesn't have like guns or rocks and shit. Then the army kicks photography's ass. Regardless, these images have the power to move us, to dig into the core of international tragedies, and to enlighten in ways more profound than any other medium. And now finally, they also have the power to lol us.

The only luxury Ghandi afforded himself was that tiny miniaturized Ferris wheel in the foreground.

I wonder if the next morning one of those two woke up in a strange bed and was like, "oops, now every day is V.D. Day."

Rock and LOL

Fermenting in the juices of blues, gospel, and country, rock and roll came out from under the cracks of America's underbelly to become an immense cultural force. Through live performances, breakthrough radio and television appearances, groundbreaking albums, and finally, into it's final and most evolved incarnation, as popular ringtones, rock and roll is part of America's shared cultural landscape.

Same with lolcats. It's only natural they would meet and have babies and those babies would be birthed on this blog.

Civilol Disobedience

Protesters fight for our rights every day. They are the foundation America is built upon. Arguably, our founding fathers were nothing but protesters standing up for what they believed in. But it's also arguable that protesters are also ridiculous and hilarious. Also, I'm pretty sure our founding fathers had jobs.

The sign in this picture is so powerful. Eight pieces of chicken legs and thighs for only $11.99?! What an amazing offer!

 

At the same time I completely misunderstand this symbolism, I feel hammered over the head with it. Also, this girl is totally hammered. Both puns work fine.

I didn't invent this one. I just wanted an excuse to repost this ancient Egyptian lolcat found by the esteemed Matt Tobey. It was the first lolcat ever!

How did the ancient Egyptians know English? Answer; aliens!

Last but not least, I found old pictures of Grandma Cordova on my computer, and what else was I supposed to do except exploit her for comedic purposes?
