Those of you still rejoicing over the Stella First Season DVD should take a short breather. Are you ready to rejoice again? Okay, good.

[Stella] had only a small window to pull

something together before they got back to their regular schedules, and

booked a short two-week tour schedule, which give them few options. So

producer Jon Stern came out to Boston to scope things out, and the plan

came together. They will tape the [DVD] special at Thursday's show.

Amazing! If this come out in time for my Christmas wish list, throw this DVD on my Martin Luther King Jr. Day wish list. Basically, you should always have a list of presents to give me.

One questions remains. Why would David Wain, Michael Showalter, and Michael Ian Black, three New York natives, decide to tape their special in Boston's Wilbur Theater? After all, Stella began it's life in the city that never sleeps. By the way, I heard New York City never sleeps because it's afraid a crackhead will break into it's apartment and steal it's television. ZING, Big Apple!

“We

wanted to do it toward the end of the tour and we wanted to do it

somewhere cool,” says Wain. “We thought Boston is a great place. We

didn’t want to do it in New York where we all live. It just seemed less

exciting.”

I just tire of New York ever so much. Once you've been to Milan, Paris, and Boston, New York just doesn't cut the imported gourmet mustard anymore. I'd trade in the hustling landscape and exciting culture for that bar from Cheers and duck boats any day of the week.

I actually went to school in Boston, so this news is cool with me. I just want to own this DVD and I don't care if they tape at the Airport Hilton in Kansas City, Kansas.
