From Indecision 2008

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has lashed out at the Republican National Committee for recent ads attempting to tie President-elect Barack Obama to scandal-ridden Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.

I was saddened to learn that at a time of national

trial, when a president-elect is preparing to take office in the midst

of the worst financial crisis in over seventy years, that the

Republican National Committee is engaged in the sort of negative,

attack politics that the voters rejected in the 2006 and 2008 election

cycles.

Reached for comment, Newt Gingrich said, "I

think one of the great problems we have in the Republican Party is that

we don't encourage you to be nasty. We encourage you to be neat,

obedient, loyal and faithful and all those Boy Scout words, which would

be great around a campfire but are lousy in politics."
