Hooray! The Catholic League Calls Attention to our Holiday Stunt Programming!
Preparations for the War on Christmas are going pretty smoothly here at Comedy Central. We've already ensured that every dusty, Dickensian orphan who gathers 'round the hearth and tele on Christmas Day will be forced to sit through a re-run of Denis Leary's 2005 special, "Merry F#%$king Christmas." Also, we've all been gleefully gay marrying each other for quite some time now. But Catholic League President Bill Donohue is probably only interested in turning one stone at a time:
“For those who doubt there is a War on Christmas, they need look no further than Comedy Central. They are well aware that this special is offensive—indeed, mocking Catholicism is the goal—and they repeatedly re-air it, particularly on Christmas, to maximize the offense.
“I am asking Catholic League members, and friends of the Catholic League, to e-mail Doug Herzog, the president of Comedy Central, requesting that he nix the Christmas showing of this vile special, and any future showings that might be planned.”
Well, Bill Donohue, we the low-level employees of Comedy Central would like to issue you a challenge in this season of good cheer unprecedented layoffs: if God exists, may he strike Doug Herzog dead… after he finishes out a long and fruitful life filled with fruit, sex and the love of good friends.
