What can you say about the legendary Paul McCartney that hasn't already been said hundreds of times? How about he was born with pants on? Or in 1992, he purchased the Indian Ocean at an auction at Sotheby's? Or he has nine nostrils? On his feet? Sure, none of those things are true, but they're literally the only things that have never been said about Sir Paul. Here he is on last night's Colbert Report:

[...] 4 – Stephen Colbert interviews a stoned old lady – Comedycentral [...]
No, the interview was not long distance. It clearly took place in the same room. Refer to the part where they sing "Ebony and Ivory." There is a frame with both a camera angle from Colbert's perspective and from McCartney's perspective, in which you can see the back of Colbert and the face of McCartney, and vice versa. Anyways, McCartney's head motions (as he is singing) match perfectly in both frames, so the interview had to be in person. However, it is quite obvious, as someone pointed out, that the answers don't always match the questions. But this is just Colbert's post-interview editing job in order to make the interview more amusing. Colbert is quite a genius in that aspect.
Nicely done! Paul is and always has been larger than life! He was the guiding foundation of the Beatles, and is truly a gift to the rest of us who are inspired and enlightened by his musical genius!
Very clever editing, but yes, it was a long distance interview. You never actually see the two of them together, and in some cases, McCartney's answers don't seem quite to match Colbert's questions. Watch the wrist thing carefully… you don't see both of their faces in frame at the same time, ever.
I think you win over your son. The way they cut back and forth between their two faces is kind of disruptive, and there's really no reason not to show both of their faces in the same frame unless they weren't in the same location. That's what body doubles are for.
Your son wins. They show Colbert slipping a "Wriststrong" bracelet on McCartney's wrist. Both men were in frame at the same time. It's quite possible that they reshot Steven's questions later because they didn't have two cameras, but he was there.
My son-in-law and I have a bet going. I say the interview did not take place in the same room, but was edited to look like it..I believe it was a long distance interview. Who wins?
Dude, Paul McCartney is pretty cool. Hes always been cool like that.
