Although I pretty much summed up my thesis in the headline, here are some supporting arguments:
1.) The Adult Swim show is created by Jon Glaser, a writer and performer on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and former correspondent for The Daily Show.
2.) Despite being about the witness protection program, the Delocated title is not a pun based on the subject matter.
3.) The show is really funny.
In conclusion, I found this interview with Jon Glaser, which was the reason I decided to post this:
The live-action show… follows "Jon," who is relocated by the government along with his family after he testifies against the Russian Mafia. But the character soon accepts an offer to head to Manhattan and star in a reality program based on his new life of anonymity.
Not surprisingly, Jon's wife and son (who also are forced to constantly wear ski masks) quickly sour on the idea…
"It's a family values show," the comedian said, laughing. "People have been responsive to it so far, so it's been great.
"It's the first time I've had my own show, and it was a lot of work, so it's been very satisfying. It's weird to finally see it on the air."
So, basically, that interview sums up the entire show in a nutshell. Except it doesn't at all, so you should just watch it on the Adult Swim website, because the entire show really sums up itself in a nutshell a lot better.
After the jump, I embedded my favorite part from the first episode.
Also, I know the premiere episode was last Thursday, and a week in internet time is a million years, but you know what? Monkey butt, that's what.
This is really funny, so just enjoy it.
Also, another new show that I like that I haven't proclaimed my love for on this blog yet is Eastbound and Down. You should check that one out too. Am I officially all caught up now?
