It's been a competitive and shaky few months in the world of late night television. As Conan packs his bags for LA, Leno cements himself into primetime, and Jimmy Fallon builds his move into late night, NBC's hosting shifts are changing comedy dynamics across the board.

As this article attests, this is literally the biggest thing to happen to television since whatever was the last big thing that happened to TV.

…Whether the Leno decision stemmed from desperation…, PR bravado…, or just an unsentimental recognition of the need to make lemonade out of lemons, it will be only the first of many such moves… the underpinnings of much of the mainstream television business are coming unstuck…

AHHHHH! All of TV will be different forever now! One thing that won't be different is Conan and Max Weinberg's professional relationship, as Weinberg and his band follows O'Brien to The Tonight Show.

Up top, I've got some great news: Max and the band will be joining us out in LA!!! That's right, baby! You know what that means: GET READY FOR SOME SWEET LA MW7 ACTION!! With all that sun, LaBamba is gonna have to wear TWO hats!!

What would all of this mean without a few comments from some outsiders? Jimmy Kimmel speaks from his relatively calm position at ABC about the new pecking order for guests.

If [Jay Leno is] successful at 10 o'clock, he will have free reign over what he does guest-wise. He'll be really unstoppable. There are just a lot more people watching television at that hour… Leno first and then Conan, or Leno and then Letterman? Both shows on the same night?

Well, okay, whatever. Enough with the speculation. If we really want to find out what's going to happen, we'll just have to wait and watch when the shows air (or when they get online).

After the jump, I embed a video from last night's Conan looking back at goofs and bloopers in their 16 season run (including an old Jack McBrayer cameo).

I hope Conan's first few weeks at The Tonight Show are blooper free, but not necessarily Jack McBrayer free. Although, now that they are moving to NY, it probably means we'll be seeing a lot less of McBrayer, Alec Baldwin (definitively) and Abe Vigoda. :(
