So I went to the ECNY awards presented at Comix last night, and it was amazing, fun, awesome, exciting and great. Basically, it was a lot of good adjectives. There were a lot of hilarious comedian presenters, nominees and winners over the course of the night.

Jon Friedman, from The Rejection Show and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon blog, hosted the event, informing us that since the ECNY Awards no longer stand for any particular words, he'd made up a new title for the event, "Excellent Comedy. No? YES!"

Kicking off the night, Kristen Schaal presented the Best Male Stand-up Award, and then she made every penis pun imaginable.

I tried to take pictures for you guys even though all I had was a crappy cellphone camera, but my work is usually crappy anyway, so I didn't think you guys would notice.

For the rest of the night's recap, please follow after the jump.

So then Kristen Schaal read from the envelope (JUST LIKE THE OSCARS! FANCY!) and Kumail Nanjiani won Best Male Stand-Up. Unfortunately, as Kumail's fiancee informed us, he was too busy too attend, but fortunately, it was due to the fact that he was preparing a new show.

Then Nick Kroll presented Best One-Person Show remotely with a funny video he made (JUST LIKE THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS! SUPER FANCY!).

Nick Kroll, who currently resides in LA, snorted copious amounts of cocaine and informed the crowd he's been doing great since he won Best Male Stand-Up last year. In case you didn't know, it was hilarious because everyone knows LA is Coke-town, USA; Population: Hollywood.

Then Kumail Nanjiani won again for One Person Show, but he was still preparing his new show so he wasn't there and everyone was like, "What? He's not even here! Oh boy, SpaghettiOs!"

Afterward, the ECNY producers honored the entire Conan O'Brien writing staff by presenting a Lifetime Achievement award, and Lindsay Robertson and Sarah Schaeffer presented UCB Comedy with the Best Website Award (Sarah read the meanest comments she's received during her internet career, and it struck very close to home. You guys are so mean sometimes!).

Soon thereafter, Adira Amram performed her amazing song Fingerblast and I'm posting a picture because the costumes made me laugh.

Okay, this post is starting to get a little long, so I'm going to go over some more stuff that happened in bullet form (bullets are fast, therefore, this will be faster to read).

  • Eugene Mirman told the only good Asperger's joke I've ever heard.
  • Seth Herzog's mom read from a speech he prepared for her, and then "Me So Horny" drowned her out.
  • Jon Friedman conducted an auction to see who would present Best Short Comedic Film, and Eugene Mirman payed two dollars for the honor.
  • Andrew W.K. seemed very excited to present an award.

He was very excited!

  • Jon Friedman won Best Variety Show for The Rejection Show. So he took off his hosting hat and put on his I-just-won-something hat.
  • Reggie Watts performed oral on stage.
  • John Mulaney informed us Au Bon Pain is French for "breakfast at LaGuardia"

After all those bullet points happened, John Mulaney presented Michelle Collins of Best Week Ever the award for Best Female Stand-Up. She was so happy (drunk) she clutched five leftover award trophies and claimed all of them (drunkenly).

And why shouldn't she be drunk?! She's hilarious and she won an awesome award.

After that everyone was happy and went out into the bar and drank and mingled and had fun. The end.

Here's a complete list of all the winners. Congratulations to everyone!
