Yesterday, a great deal of the country, most of whom aren't of Irish lineage, descended to the nation's bars and pubs in honor of the Irish people, because if you have one cultural Irish holiday, why not celebrate it by reinforcing the worst stereotypes possible?

The closest thing Irish people have to a positive portrayal in America is Lucky from Lucky Charms, so this video of Jim Gaffigan holding up tiny construction paper dolls and giving them funny accents is basically Lillies of the Field but for Irish-Americans. At least the paper dolls don't creepily hang around children, offering them delicious marshmallows in exchange for their company.

It's going to be a major breakthrough when that tiny paper doll leprechaun is the first Irish person to accept an Oscar, or any award ever for that matter, while sober.

Also, you should watch Jim Gaffigan's stand-up special King Baby which will premiere March 29 at 9pm / 8c on Comedy Central. And just like Jim Gaffigan, I'm not simply using Comedy Central's website to promote a Comedy Central special. I would never do that.
