marriagematerialEvery few weeks there's a silly article about how unfunny scientists discovered that being hilarious leads to sex. And every time I read one of those articles, I just end up thinking, "am I not funny?"

Anyway, here's another one of those articles, and I think you should follow Steven Soderbergh's advice and read it with someone you ****.

A new study shows that women think that funny men are smarter and more likely to be honest than more dour counterparts.

Although studies have shown that humour is not linked to intelligence…

I could have told you that. Of course a sense of humor is not linked to intelligence. I mean look at Einstein. That guy was always sticking his tongue out in pictures and junk, and he got terrible grades in school! What a fucking dumbass!

Women have evolved to find intelligence an attractive quality because it suggests that a man will be a good provider for her and her children, the researchers believe.

In contrast, most boring stupid people actually do better in life; they are usually better fathers and providers because they have no dreams or wants of their own. Everyone else is unhappy, including you, me and everyone Miranda July knows.

The point is, most of us die alone in a puddle of loneliness regardless of our sense of humor. Man, what is this, http://bcinsider.bummercentral.com?

While women appear to prefer a men who makes them laugh, the psychologists say that previous studies have shown that the same does not hold true when the sexes are reversed – and men are not more attracted to funny girls.

I have a scientific explanation for that phenomena: most men are idiots. Can I please get a million dollars in grant money now please?

Okay, so I'm basically setting up a straw man out of this article. The research isn't very conclusive, and it's easy to make fun of the entire thing without putting too much effort. But cut me some slack here, I'm just trying to get laid.
