Okay, Let's Get Our Hopes Up About the State DVD Again
I've been writing about the perpetually-upcoming release of The State DVD for a long time. In fact, I've even been writing about how I've been writing these blog posts for a long time for a long time. See?
I've been following the pending release of The State DVD for a while now…
So, you know, take all this with a grain of salt, but also embrace it, because good news is hard to come by these days. Even if it doesn't happen, it might make life a little easier before the economy inevitably becomes sentient and eats us alive. Anyway, Joe Lo Truglio says it's happening July 14 (the DVD, not our horrific end):
Now…there’s a slight chance this exact date may change, but it will be released in the summer. MTV is hoping to set up a State DVD Website in the next couple months with more info, and possible pre-order sales. Their ultimate plan is to coordinate the release between the Reno finale and the premiere of Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter’s very funny new show, Michael and Michael Have Issues.
Joe's got back cover images for all four season, which really makes it seem like this might really happen. So maybe, just maybe we'll soon be having a Wet, Hot MTV's The State Summer.
Oh, while we're on the subject, did you know the MTV website has the first five episodes of The State online? I sure didn't. Click here to watch the classic Pants sketch.
And in case you didn't hear, Joe Lo Truglio just joined fellow State-members Thomas Lennon, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Ben Garant in the cast of RENO! 911, which airs Wednesdays at 10:30pm / 9:30c.

Does anyone know what happened to Deps. Johnson, Garcia, and Kimball? The new guys are great, but I really miss those three! Any chance they might be coming back??
