I would say America would do good in becoming a little more like sweden with at least healthcare and those stuff because.. that´s what´s good about sweden evereone can have a decent life.. Then again sweden isn´t perfect because many people are using the system.. So we´d do good in becoming a little more like america in some ways.. But that´s a balance problem.. By the way loved when he was at Robyn´s house and saw what she did with her trash..:D awesome..:D

I love how the Swedes are getting all cocky in the comments (I'm Swedish myself). We all love to make people abroad believe we found the perfect solutions to all society's problems and it seems that our little propaganda business is working quite well because people seem to buy it.
The ugly truth though, is that our schools are among the worst in Europe, especially in Math and Grammar. So is our health care, ask those of us in the Northern regions who need to wait up to four years to get surgery or to see a dentist.
We do have poverty, ask people who live in Rosengard, Rinkeby och Bergsjon, or in the empty villages in the North.
We have the highest rate of rapes in Europe. We also welcome refugees by stacking them into isolated camps in the woods for years, and have one of the highest suicide rate among refugees in Europe.
Our government forces long-term sick people into forced labour for almost no money. They call it professional rehabilitation, I call it something else.
We like to brag about how eco-friendly we are but we're the fourth worse polluters in Europe.
Our government taps all phone, sms, and email communication passing our boarders, turning Sweden into the most modern Big Brother-type surveillance society in the world.
Yes, the Swedish myth is a beautiful one, but it still is just a myth.
Sorry to disappoint you.

No, they all get paid by citizen's taxes via the government — just like AIG and other bailed out Wall St. firms. The main difference being the doctors don't pay themselves million dollar bonuses with citizen tax dollars when they kill a patient.

Stop trying to compare a nation of 9 million people to a nation of over 300 million, made up of 50 sovereign states united under a federal gov't. It doesn't work.

50% of 300,000 million cannot support the 50%. Even if you took 100% of what every working American made, it would not be enough. The math doesn't work, nor should it. No human has an inalienable right to education or health. No human has the right to the property or gains of another human. Period. The only thing you are born with is the right to freedom. Everything else is up to YOU.

If the U.S had more people that were productive instead of protesting that they have a right to have everything handed to them, we could actually afford to help those that truly do need help. This used to be a country of "doers". Now it is a country of "gimme, gimme". If that attitude doesn't change, the country will die or split. Eventually, the producers will have had enough and will simply stop producing. If you beat a dog long enough, it will eventually bite you.

By the way, if Sweden is so great, why isn't everyone flocking to get in. Hmm, maybe because they actually have an effective immigration policy that keeps losers and leechers out of their country. Hmm, maybe it's because you give up for freedom for "free" services. You can't have it both ways. You are free or a slave. If you expect to gov't to take care of you, you are a slave.
