Jon Stewart Dismantles Miss California Debacle
We may have elected a black guy President, but this Miss California nonsense proves American still loves white girls. Even I have found myself in actual conversations about Carrie Prejean, and I'm a high-brow genius who once attended a college. For six years! But, as with most kerfuffles, especially ones involving white girls, this was much ado about bullshit. Last night Jon Stewart tried to slap some sense into us.
The Daily Show airs Monday through Thursday at 11pm / 10c.

I think Jon made a rather ascerbic point about the Prejean "controversy" in regards to the photos: "Who could've guessed that a woman who is being superficially judged based mostly on looks would perhaps have professional photos taken of her topless." Where's the controversy here? As for Donald Trump's statement, well, what can really be said other than "that's precisely why anyone gives a crap about anything she says." She is only using her media attention to voice an opinion.
As for Obama bashing, Stewart does more of that than Fox News ever did of Bush and pals- it's sad when a satire show is more fair and balanced than a supposed legitimate news personality such as O'Reilly or Olbermann.

Derek-
you are rather naive. Obama has done nothing but make sure that you and your posterity are going to be upside-down in that nice new house of yours for the rest of your and your childrens natural lives. You will take out mortgage after mortgage while being taxed to absolute hell.
I bet you are even one of those guys who loves tax day because te gov't "gives you money" instead of having the intelligence to realize that all they are doing is giving you a fraction of what you gave them already.
The government is opperating at about 10% efficiency. That eight thousand is going to cost your children 80,000.
The Daily Show on 5.13.09 became an authority on expression of black art. Between the usual toilet humor and dick jokes, how’d I miss that?
Is Jon actually, you know, one of those kinds of people that can pass but keeps it on the Down Low for career purposes? Or is Jon Sammy Davis Jr.’s secret love child? That WOULD explain the Jewish angle.
No matter. If Jon is a brother it makes perfect sense that he would feel compelled to inform Daily Show viewers of how President Obama should conduct cultural events at The White House, seeing how Jon is one of THEM now; down for the struggle and whatnot.
It could be that he suffers from an affliction similar to his colleague Colbert: Head-up-ass-all-day-noma with contributing side effects miniscule genitalia and non-existent rhythm (very sad really).
Because unless Jon truly is black, how can he weigh in on how or when black culture should be expressed? (The whole ‘walk a mile in my shoes’ thing, you understand)
If it is the latter and not the former, I recommend a cure. Four doses of cultural artistic expression: 1) Soul On Ice – MeShell NdegeOcello, 2) The Man In My Basement (and Futureland) – Walter Mosley, 3) Black Man – Stevie Wonder, 4) Strange Fruit – Billie Holiday – along with a good HARD look in a mirror (PUTZ).
Next thing you know it’ll be commentary on the disenfranchised white male in America.
Derek – Obama did not give you that 8000 to buy your house with and he did not back/finance that loan you are getting: I did. We all did. In fact, the "stimulus" package will ultimately tax our grandkids.
You get a house, and I get taxed. You get a house, and our grandkids go into debt. Thank you for being a burden on all of us. You're welcome.
I'm a liberal, but find it offensive that the left is demanding in zero sum fashion that everyone embrace gay marriage. I do not oppose it, but it's not an issue I think deserves much of our time and energy as a nation. If gay couples have equal civil rights, that should be satisfactory IMO. It will take some time for the culture to adapt its notions of "marriage" to be more inclusive. Why are gay marriage advocates trying to force the issue, and make the rest of us follow suit? Why are they condemning people like the California girl, who is simply espousing a prevalent cultural belief? So much vitriol over an issue that pales in comparison to things like poverty, climate change, foreign wars, etc
"Also he's saying she shouldn't get repercussions for saying stupid shit in public? WTF is that?"
This is America, she should be able to say whatever the fuck she wants. WTF are you? a Nazi?
Jon taking this so lightly was a disgrace. He didn't get the point of all this at all. He didn't slap sense into anyone who's following all this, he just showed his ignorance. I used to like him, now I think he's just a stupid kyke. If he can't understand the controversy about Prejean and why it's so horrible, how can I be sure he's doing a good job about things I'm not following closely? I stopped recording him on my TiVO and I won't be watching anything with him in it again. I'm sticking to Colbert from now on.
