I didn't know you were allowed to apologize to someone while simultaneously making them look like a moron, but David Letterman did just that. On Tuesday's episode of Late Show, Letterman joked about Alex Rodriguez knocking up Bristol Palin. Apparently, Sarah Palin was insulted that Letterman would exploit her children, because only she's allowed to do that. And now, on last night's episode, Letterman "apologized," but really just used the occasion to prove he is a genius…

For Dave, mea-culpa is just another way to say you're-an-idiot. He should run for vice president of fake apologizing.

You would never hear Conan take such a cheap shot at someone who is just trying to enjoy themselves at a baseball game.

Now that it's in his own interest, he tries to make a sincere apology. He would not dare take on the President's family because that would offend his liberal supporters.
I used to like his show but now it is looking pathetic.
From a former fan.

For the love of something. Letterman made a joke error. Don Imus made a comment that was offensive to the entire African-American community. Leetermans joke was intended to get the nerve of a political family. Sure it was not in the best of taste but it was no race attack. He apologized to the flight attendant and her family. Lets move on please.

I think Letterman is smug and self satisfied. He needs to be knocked down a few pegs. He has his puppet band leader to support his comments.

Dave is such a genius that his ratings are in the toilet. Lets make fun of his kid he had at of wedlock. Young kids should be left out of attacks by any political agenda.

That was funny as hell. People do not have a sense of humor. I'm moving to Ireland!

Fire Him!!!!!! Remember Don Imus!!!!! I never heard "I'm sorry to have offended you " in that statement. David Letterman is too old and needs to be taken off the air. This looks bad for CBS that nothing is being done about this. Remember Don Imus and how quickly he was yanked off the air. Double standards.

Read some of the comments they are leaving on youtube… they are calling for violence against Dave's family. Give your support to Dave in all ways, well in all ways Tivo makes possible.

Yeah, I just did. I have no idea why, but that guy reminds me of a movie villain. I expected him to pull back his human mask and reveal he was a reptile like in V.

Did you see the John Ziegler response on MSNBC?
