I'm not sure if you're an American or not, but if you aren't you should understand that 99% of the people who watch Jason's segments understand that he is not mocking Iran, but satirizing a stereotypical self-centered image of Americans. It is sad and disappointing that some who spoke to him were arrested, however I think if they understand how his spots are helping humanize Iran for Americans, and how if there were more spots like that Iran-American relations woudl probably improve, I think most of those arrested would still have chosen to participate. Because it's a comedy show, it may seem trite to you, but what Jon Stewart and Jason Jones are attempting to do is actually far more noble than what 90% of our non-comedic press is doing. It's an unfortunately commentary that American comedy is more intelligent than a large segment of our press.
